The Rotary Club of London's renowned weekly lunches are held weekly at Dartmouth House in Mayfair, the beautiful home of the English Speaking Union.

The venue reflects the strong connections between the ESU and the London Club, whose honorary member the Duke of Edinburgh is the ESU’s president, and whose longstanding member Lord Hunt of Wirral is the ESU’s chairman of governors.

Built in the 16th century, Dartmouth House was converted by Lord Revelstoke in the late 19th century into a beautiful town house with many interesting features, including a magnificent marble staircase, Louis XIV walnut panelling and a stunning Courtyard.

Under Lord Hunt’s chairmanship, the building recently underwent a £1m renovation and today is one of the best venues for debating and events in London.

The English-Speaking Union plays an important part in promoting international understanding and human achievement through the widening use of the English language throughout the world, and its home is a suitable setting for the famous lunches of the Rotary Club of London, which regularly hosts prominent speakers from industry, politics, the arts and the voluntary sector.
